Roots
Raised here, staying here
Ryan grew up in West Virginia and never left. He has seen what it costs a community when young people move away for work, and he has seen what it gives back when they stay.
About the candidate
Ryan Elkins is a lifelong West Virginian, recovery advocate, nonprofit leader, and Democratic candidate for the West Virginia House of Delegates representing District 30.

Roots
Ryan grew up in West Virginia and never left. He has seen what it costs a community when young people move away for work, and he has seen what it gives back when they stay.
Recovery
As a recovery advocate, Ryan has walked alongside people at their lowest point and watched them rebuild. He knows what services actually help, which gaps break people, and how much of the difference is simply someone showing up.
Service
Running a nonprofit means stretching a small budget across real needs and answering to the people you serve. That habit — accountability to neighbors, not donors — is what Ryan intends to carry into Charleston.
Now
Ryan is running as a Democrat for the West Virginia House of Delegates because the decisions being made about this district should be made with this district in the room.
I have watched people rebuild their whole lives when help was close enough to reach. That is what I want state government to be for West Virginia — close enough to reach.

What guides the work
Policy is about people. Ryan starts from the person in front of him and works outward.
Public money is neighbors' money. Every dollar should be explainable at a kitchen table.
Fewer slogans, more things that work. Judge a policy by whether it changes a life here.
